Birding at the Laguna de Fuente de Piedra and farmlands (Costa del Sol, Malaga, Andalucia, Southern Spain)

Fantastic day out surrounded by snowy mountains!

Have a look at the pictures and the complete list of the 61 species observed!

The way to Fuente de Piedra from Malaga left nice views of snowy Et Torcal, Sierra de Las Cabras and Sierra de Camarolos. The temperature was low in the morning (2ºC) but went up during the day up to 9ºC in the farmlands. It was cloudy in the morning but turned up sunny in the afternoon.

We drove around the lake after breakfast but stopped at the car park of the Visitors Centre before. There was a nice flock of Greenfinches and Linnets foraging at the entrance lake with some Spanish and Rock Sparrows among them.

We then started a tour that gave us Crested, Calandra and Skylarks, to which Woodlarks joined at the end of the day at the Visitors Centre.

We did not find uncommon birds in our trip though some of the species observed were interesting like White Stork, White-headed Duck, a Grey Wagtail and great views of the Bluethroat around the Visitors Centre.

You can also live these experiences with us !!!
